As seasides have been developed as regular urban areas, the local characteristics of a coastal landscape have been pushed to the fringe. Zandvoort is such a place. Its train station is only 200 meters away from the beach, but still it’s hard to find your way.
In order to reconnect people to the natural dune landscape, we have created a curving, green path between station and boulevard. The old pavement made way for a diversity of coastal plants and benches were made out of pine trees from the dune forest. Initiated as a pilot on a small area by the local entrepreneurs, this project is now ready for a larger scale implementation.
